High Strength Innovation: Advanced Silicon Carbide Rods
Silicon carbide’s exceptional dimensional stability and chemical/oxidation resistance make it essential to achieving high reliability in equipment manufacturing applications. Furthermore, our Performance SiC brings added advantages in terms of low electrical resistance resistance for equipment manufacturers.
Ortech offers a diverse selection of silicon carbide heating elements designed specifically to address specific conditions and industrial needs. Ranging from uniform heat distribution in large furnaces with its SC Type to precise temperature regulation in demanding environments like semiconductor manufacturing using its DM Type elements, Ortech has everything covered when it comes to precision temperature regulation.
Single Spiral (SC) Type
Silicon carbide heating elements boast superior performance over metal ones, boasting higher working temperature, resistance to oxidation and longer lifespan while having less mass and being lighter overall.
Heat treatment furnaces are widely utilized for metal heat treatment, ceramic production, glass production, semiconductor fabrication and many other uses. Their design ensures precision and thermal stability for maximum performance.
These elements are constructed of high-density reaction bonded silicon carbide with special low resistance cold ends for furnace welding into hot zones. Their extremities are then metallized with aluminum for low contact surface with which braided aluminum straps provide electrical connections. With various sizes and lengths available to suit various application needs.
Hollow Tubular (H) Type
Globar HD Max silicon carbide rods are specially crafted for high-tech environments and applications with corrosion-prone environments, featuring thicker walls for improved corrosion resistance, reduced mechanical breakage risk, and extended product lifespan. Ideal for tunnel kilns, muffle furnaces, glass manufacturing processes, precious metal production and precious stone manufacturing applications.
The DM Type is engineered to maintain a steady temperature, making it an excellent choice for applications requiring precision and stability such as manufacturing of float glass, chemicals or electronics.
The Graphene-Resin (GR) Type rod blanks are composed of prepreg layers incorporating graphene-resin mixture and fiber cloth alternately, which are then cured under vacuum to ensure they adhere securely and firmly bonded together. Once complete, the blank is cut to its desired length for attachment of handle, line guides and reel seat.
Typ W
Silicon Carbide (SiC) is a high-performance ceramic material known for its incredible strength, durability, and thermal stability, making it indispensable in numerous industrial applications. SiC rods are commonly employed as welding positioning pins due to their stiffness and resistance to rapid temperature changes; similarly they play an integral part in extensometers where their rigidity and stability allow accurate measurements for material behavior under stress.
Silicon carbide heating elements from our catalog of silicon carbide heating elements come in a range of designs tailored specifically for specific conditions and applications, such as SC, H, W, DM and SCR types. Each offers special properties to meet specific industry applications; for instance the SC Type is ideal for heat distribution in large furnaces for metalworking and ceramic production while our DM Type offers precise temperature regulation in high tech manufacturing processes.
Typ DM
Silicon carbide heating elements offer a range of solutions tailored specifically for industrial needs. Each is tailored for specific conditions and applications – be it providing uniform heat distribution in large furnaces with SC Type elements or precise temperature regulation with DM Type heating elements – playing an indispensable role in metalworking, ceramics, glass production environments.
DM heating elements feature a hollow tubular design with thickened ends and are engineered for durability in environments that experience frequent temperature fluctuations, making them perfect for continuous, high-temperature operations in metalworking or chemical production settings. They’re further distinguished by using mullite-bonded porous SiC technology which provides advanced functional properties with controlled electrical resistivity.
Typ SCR
The SCR Type is often chosen in applications where precise temperature control and energy efficiency are critical to success. Its robust construction allows direct connection to three-phase power supplies, simplifying electrical arrangements and increasing operational efficiencies across industries like glass manufacturing and electronics production.
This element features high-density reaction bonded silicon carbide with both electrical connections on one end, known as LRE (Low Resistance End). This design can be found in furnace dimensions and layout that preclude wiring from both ends of an element; typically this design can be found in tunnel kilns, roller kilns, glass kilns as well as muffle furnaces; it may even be activated using ramp, sync or firing angle controls signals found in SCR gate drives.
