Карбид кремния на нитридной связке

Nitride-bonded silicon carbide (NBSIC) offers outstanding mechanical, thermal and chemical properties. It can be formed into numerous shapes and sizes by various forming methods.

Studies have demonstrated that NBSIC exhibits superior wear resistance compared to commonly used steel types in soil working parts.

Механические свойства

Nitride-bonded silicon carbide exhibits superior mechanical properties such as strength, impact resistance, high temperature tolerance and wear resistance. It boasts one of the highest hardness values among engineering materials while possessing one of the lowest coefficients of friction – helping prevent wear from hard particles or surfaces that come into contact with it.

Silcarb produces an extensive array of shapes, sizes and profiles of NBSIC ceramics to meet a range of applications – such as immersion tube heaters, furnace linings and cast refractories – such as furnace linings or cast refractories.

Silicon carbide’s chemical makeup renders it exceptionally stable at elevated temperatures and its strength remains almost constant under high loads; this makes NBSIC particularly reliable as an assessment of ceramic refractories in harsh environments. Furthermore, this material boasts outstanding resistance to acidic and basic solutions like hot gases, molten salts, metals – more so than oxide-bonded silicon carbide products!

Тепловые свойства

Reaction bonded silicon carbide (NB SiC) is an advanced refractory material with superior thermal and chemical properties. It has high strength at elevated temperatures and can be formed into near net shapes for near net casting applications – for instance cyclone liners in mineral and coal plants as well as corrosion-resistant components found on industrial processing equipment are commonly made of this material.

Reacting silicon powder with nitrogen at high temperature leads to the creation of a nitride-bonded structure which bonds SiC grains together and improves their mechanical properties, with an increase in tensile strength of 50% at 1400degC temperature as well as excellent fatigue resistance properties.

Its excellent oxidation resistance and thermal shock resistance make NB SiC an ideal material choice for high stress kiln furniture applications, including waste incineration and aluminium reduction cell furnaces. Furthermore, it can withstand vibrations and abrasions with ease while also boasting low coefficient of linear expansion for improved mechanical strength during thermal cycling.

Химические свойства

Silicon carbide is chemically inert and resistant to most chemicals, including acids. Furthermore, its thermal stability enables it to withstand elevated temperatures without degradation or loss of mechanical properties.

Nitride-bonded silicon carbide can be formed into complex shapes, making it an excellent material for applications where structural strength is key. Its high tensile strengths and superior flexural strengths prevent bending or yielding under transverse stresses.

Nitride-bonded silicon carbide (NB SiC) may be more costly than its non-oxide engineering ceramic counterparts such as HP SiC and SSiC, but it’s far stronger. Furthermore, its impact and abrasion resistance is particularly valuable in soil working environments; in tests it was shown to be over 1.2 times stronger in light soil with abrasive particles than steel or padding weld, more than 1.5 times stronger in medium soil, and almost eight times stronger when tested in heavy soil conditions than steel and padding weld.

Износостойкость

Nitride-bonded silicon carbide is well known for its superior abrasion resistance and chemical inertness. It is commonly employed in shaft furnaces to melt copper, copper slags, and aluminium production processes.

Nitride-bonded silicon carbide provides excellent wear resistance in light soil conditions, surpassing that of steels by a significant margin. This is particularly evident for F-61 padding weld, which boasts higher niobium content than post-martensitic B27 steel and has fine lath hardening martensite grains within tempering martensite, as evidenced by its superior abrasive wear resistance than both steels and the F-61 padding weld in light soil conditions.

NB SiC offers excellent thermal shock resistance, meaning it can withstand sudden temperature shifts without cracking or fracture. This makes it an excellent material choice for applications subject to intense operating conditions that would cause other ceramics to deform or crack under normal temperature loading conditions. Furthermore, its strength against transverse loading makes NB SiC an excellent material choice for tunnel kilns, shuttle kilns and other industrial kilns.
