Силициев карбид, свързан с нитрид

Nitride-bonded silicon carbide material boasts high inherent strength and resistance to creep and oxidation at elevated temperatures, making it easy to form near net shapes for applications such as cyclone liners in mineral processing plants or coal plants.

At higher temperatures, it has exceptional load-carrying capacities.

High-Temperature Strength

Nitride-bonded silicon carbide ceramics offer superior temperature resistance compared to their porous SiC (PSIC) counterparts, making them suitable for applications such as kiln furniture. Their temperature resistance allows up to 1600 degC usage.

NBSIC boasts high bending strength due to the tough matrix in which its silicon carbide grains are embedded, coupled with its protective nitride layer protecting SiC grains from oxidation and providing thermal shock resistance. As a result, this combination of high flexural strength, toughness and thermal shock resistance enable NBSIC to withstand large stresses at temperatures up to 1600 degC without cracking or breaking under strain.

Silcarb offers NBSIC in various shapes, sizes and profiles to meet varying application needs. Our Bangalore plant houses multiple furnaces that produce this material using various forming processes.

NBSIC ceramics have long been recognized for their corrosion and wear resistance, combined with their ability to resist molten metals. When applied in this application, NBSIC’s nitride layer prevents aluminum etching while not wetting out, meaning replacement doesn’t need to be performed regularly; additionally it stands up well against acid attack as well as being immune against salts or halogens that might attack other materials.

Nitride-bonded silicon carbide is an extremely strong material with excellent thermal shock resistance, being capable of withstanding rapid temperature shifts without cracking or breaking, making it perfect for applications requiring materials that can withstand frequent thermal cycling.

NB SiC manufacturing involves heating a silica-to-carbidoeugene mix to high temperatures in an atmosphere rich in nitrogen, where nitrogen reacts with silicon in the silica grains to form nitrides that bond them together into dense and strong composite materials. Depending on its composition and temperature/duration of nitridation process, different types of nitrides may form, including alpha (a-Si3N4) with hexagonal crystal structure similar to Wurtzite; or beta (b-Si3N4) which has cristobalite/zin blende crystal structures.

Nitride-bonded silicon carbide’s strength and wear resistance make it an excellent choice as a cast refractory material in harsh service conditions, from replicating metal parts to being cast instead of alloys in high temperature environments like mineral processing plants or coal plants; cast for high-temperature environments like cyclone liners in mineral processing plants, coal plants and slurry pump components; even corrosion-resistant applications like chemical and paper plant linings, pipe liners, valve liners valve spigots or nozzles can all use corrosion-resistant applications like these materials as they resist chemical corrosion-resistant applications like theses in addition to corrosion-resistant applications like these applications used against corrosion such as these materials can also resist chemical corrosion-related applications used against corrosion-related applications like corrosion-resistant chemical applications like chemical plant linings as chemical plant linings as well as corrosion-resistant applications such as chemical plant linings as opposed to alloy alloys used as high temperature environments such as mineral processing plants or coal plants or coal plants with high temperature environments such as in high temperature environments like these plant cyclone liners can replace alloy alloy alloy cast in place of alloy casting processes or replacing them entirely as high temperature environments such as in high-temperature environments such as coal plants slurry pump components slurry pump components that come into high temperature environments such as coal plants cyclone liners found within these environments; they can even used corrosion-resistant applications like paper plant linings, pipe liners valve liners valve spigots and nozzles or corrosion-resistant applications such as chemical plants that may use corrosion-resistant applications such cyclone liners (cyclone) used cyclone liners found within high temperature environments as used in high-temperature environments cyclone cyclone lining applications found cyclone cyclone cyclone lining applications or corrosion resistant environments such as found within high temperature environments such cyclone cyclone linings used lining chemical processes such as use them cyclone linings/spigot linings valve spigots/spigots/spigots/spigots/spigots/spigots/spigots/spigots/spigots/spigots/co coal plants/co plants/co plants/co/co cyclor cyclor cyclor coal plants or coal plants when casting them cycline. Nitride-bonded silicon carbide (NBSIC) is an advanced ceramic material with outstanding physical and thermal shock properties. NBSIC boasts superior refractory, chemical, and high temperature strength of 1600 degrees Celsius for exceptional high temperature strength. Furthermore, its highly resistant to oxidation and corrosion in demanding environments like aluminum melting pots and waste incinerator plants and boasts superior thermal shock resistance as well.

NBSIC is extremely tough and remains mechanically strong at extremely high temperatures compared to other oxide-bonded SiC products, making it suitable for various forms of stress conditions. It can be formed into various shapes and sizes to produce high performance kiln furniture; Silcarb utilizes several furnaces at their Bangalore plant in order to produce various shapes and sizes of NBSIC for various applications.

Nitride bonded silicon carbide material showed significantly superior anti-wear properties than steel types and padding weld in most soil types, leading to greater lifespan than B27 with lath hardening martensite and evenly distributed areas of tempered martensite, XAR 600 or F-61 welds.

NBSIC is an inert chemical material, making it suitable for many uses not available with other refractory materials. This includes being used as a liner material in aluminium melting pots and lower stacks of blast furnaces; additionally it has also been successfully implemented into shaft furnaces used during WTE aluminium production due to its resistance against cryolite and copper slag deposits.

Chemical Resistance

Nitride-bonded silicon carbide is resistant to metal melts, making it an ideal material for use in refractory applications. As such, this refractory choice can be found lining aluminium melt pots as well as blast furnace and shaft furnace kiln furniture, and even large diameter crucibles and liners made out of this nitride-bonded silicon carbide material.

Nitrogen bonded silicon carbide has an outstanding thermal shock resistance, being able to endure rapid temperature changes without cracking or fracture. This makes it particularly suitable for high temperature environments such as foundries. Furthermore, its fatigue resistance makes it suitable for high-pressure environments – making this material particularly suitable in foundry applications where temperatures and pressures may change quickly and abruptly.

Nitride-bonded silicon carbide’s chemical resistance depends on its crystalline structure and grain size. Alpha form (a-SiC), featuring hexagonal crystal structures with wurtzite morphologies, has superior corrosion resistance; while beta modifications (b-SiC) exhibit lesser resilience.

Although nitride bonded silicon carbide ceramics offer excellent mechanical properties, their lightweight nature allows for near net shaping and casting into complex parts such as cyclone liners for mineral and coal plants, wear-resistant components in chemical plants, slurry pump parts and wear resistant components in chemical plants – eliminating heavy metal components and saving both costs and downtime.
